The hovercraft is an amphibious vehicle sustained on a cushion of air with directional control provided by fluid dynamic forces. This means that a hovercraft floats in the air like a helicopter and is moved horizontally by vectored thrust provided by air flows generated by the hovercraft itself.

Each hovercraft is equipped with one or more fans to provide the pressure necessary to support its own weight and for directional control.

The weight of the vehicle is sustained by low pressure air contained in perimeter skirts made in Kevlar® textile that limit the loss of air, lifting the entire vehicle and its payload off the underlying surface.

A hovercraft can effortlessly overcome any unevenness in the terrain, provided that it is no higher than the height of its air cushion containment skirts.

Hi Tech International has patented a system (EUROPEAN PATENT EP 1 449 735) using elements called 'inverter cups' that, in addition to conventional directional control, also allows the hovercraft to brake, reverse and rotate around a vertical axis when stationary or moving, just like a helicopter.

Hi Tech International production includes open, daycruise configuration and climate controlled closed cabin variants in all sizes: from the smallest HTI425 four seat model to the largest model, the LCAC, for the logistical transport of vehicles, personnel and materiel.

Two defining aspects of Hi Tech International vehicles are their outstanding reliability and lightness, offering at the same time class-beating technical and mechanical characteristics.

Hi Tech International vehicles are used in demanding applications by governmental bodies such as the police, fire service and civil protection precisely because of their reliability and robustness.

Operating a hovercraft does not require any special skill other than a sense of balance familiar to anyone who rides a bicycle or motorcycle.

Operating a hovercraft can also be enjoyable and funny, especially when overcoming obstacles or transiting from the water to dry land in a matter of seconds.

Controlling a vehicle that can travel over water, ice, mud, tarmac and shingle gives you the feeling of complete freedom of movement.
Because of their characteristics, hovercraft are ideal for utility and emergency rescue applications.
In particular they are extremely efficient and suitable in floods, as they are not in the least influenced by underlying currents and simply skim over the surface.

Hi Tech International hovercraft are ideal for operations on rivers, near waterfalls, on shallow water or in swamp environments - indeed where a conventional vehicle cannot venture.

To operate a Hi Tech International vehicle costs about as much as a land based 4x4 vehicle, with a fuel consumption of approximately 8 liters/hour of unleaded petrol, as all Hi Tech International engines are 4 stroke, Euro 4 units.

The engine power depends on the size of the chosen model, and ranges from 145 to 15.820 HP.

Only Hi Tech International vehicles are all certified ISO 12217-3 and approved for use by the Italian fire service, police and EMS.

According to the passengers that you need to transport Hi Tech International offers various models:
